Remembering Srebrenica Peace Walk 2019, Bridging the Divide: Confronting Hate

July 15 2019 22:45

A group of Bosnians and British citizens visited Al-Manaar on Sunday 14th July 2019 as part of “Remembering Srebrenica Peace Walk 2019, Bridging the Divide: Confronting Hate” initiative.

Remembering Srebrenica is an annual event organised across the UK to remember Bosnian victims of genocide and ethnic cleansing. The event is also considered an opportunity “to inspire people to challenge those who wish to divide communities, celebrate those who build bridges between communities and change attitudes and behaviours in others to go out and build bridges of their own”.

Remembering Srebrenica Peace Walk 2019 started at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St. John’s Wood, stopped at St. James Piccadilly Church before arriving at Al-Manaar Mosque, where they were accorded a warm welcome by Al-Manaar staff and volunteers.
