Al-Manaar held a job fair in its halls

On the evening of Thursday 16th December from 4pm to 7pm, Al-Manaar held a job fair in its halls. The recruitment event was organised in partnership with the Metropolitan Police and provided a space for those aged fifteen and over to find work and apprenticeships opportunities.

A number of organisations from a variety of industries were present at the event; The Metropolitan Police Recruitment Team, London Fire Brigade, Chelsea Foundation, The Skills Centre, Presidency London College and BigDeal. Each organisation had a few representatives who would discuss employment opportunities with attendees.

The job fair also included courses that attendees could sign up for which would allow for them to develop and learn new skills. The majority of attendees were young, ranging from ages fifteen to twenty.

Refreshments prepared by Al-Manaar’s Community Kitchen were enjoyed throughout the event.

All in all, the job fair was a huge success, and was an enjoyable and insightful experience for both employers and job-seekers.
