London mosque is helping its community keep the faith during lockdown

Ramadan always involves self-control during the hours of fasting but it also brings communities together.However this year mosques are helping people unite -while remaining apart from each other.

The Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in North Kensington is trialling a recorded prayer call, the azhan, once a day during this year’s Ramadan as part of its response to coronavirus whilst people maintain social isolation.

It has been closely involved supporting the community after the Grenfell blaze, which affected many of its worshippers directly.

He said the azhan call was a response to the pandemic.
