Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in partnership with ACAVA proudly present Grenfell Community Memorial Mosaic and a specially commissioned poem entitled “Bloom”, inspired by the artwork and complimenting its themes. The centrepiece of the mosaic encompasses evergreen interlocking hearts symbolising the interconnectedness of the North Kensington community. The geometric hearts are a nod to the diverse cultural heritage of the locality. The year long project, which was unveiled during the first anniversary of the fire on 14 June 2018, will witness the mosaic bloom, as a new petal is unveiled on the 14th of every month. Once complete the large-scale floral installation will be unveiled on the second anniversary of Grenfell. Once finished, the mosaic will be dismantled and each of the twelve petals will be given to local community organisations and faith groups that were instrumental in supporting the community following the aftermath of Grenfell Tower fire tragedy.
The centre of the flower, a green heart, will be gifted to Grenfell United as a token of support and solidarity from the local North Kensington community.
The twelve community organisations include:
ACAVA
Acklam Village
Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre
North Kensington Fire Station
Harrow Club
Henry Dickens
Latymer Community Church

Queens Park Rangers Football Club
Rugby Portobello Trust
